Despite their excellent communications and proximity to the Madrid-Murcia highway (A-30), this unique region has preserved all the ancestral Murcia’s flavor and characteristic lush orchard gardens, surrounded by the Segura river, which flows gently among impossible peaks, creating impressive gorges lulling their course through the villages of Abarán, Archena, Blanca, Cieza, Ojós, Ricote, Villanueva del Río Segura and Ulea, composing timeless landscapes, aromatized by the orange and lemon blossom from their antique orchards.

Route of the Bridges

A picturesque route that goes from the place known as the Salto de la Novia at the entrance to the town of Ojos, to the Solvente dam at the exit of it, through which the bridges that cross the Segura River as it passes through the municipality are crossed.

Our Living Legacy

A must-see in the Ricote Valley is the recently restored "Olivera Gorda", a magnificent specimen of wild olive tree classified as a monumental tree, approximately 1,400 years old.
The oldest olive tree in the Region of Murcia and the 7th in Spain, it is located at the entrance to the village of Ricote.

Alto de Bayna Mirador

If you visit the Ricote Valley, you can't miss the spectacular views of the Azud de Ojos on a floating walkway in the Alto de Bayna, recognized in El Viajero, supplement of the newspaper El País, as one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region and the peninsula.

Fundación Pedro Cano

The painter Pedro Cano, who in 2024 has been awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, is undoubtedly one of the best watercolorists today. His museum can be visited in Blanca, the city where he was born and where he lives. In addition, the building that houses the collection, built by Martin Lejarra, won an Architecture Award.

A merchant from Ulean, who sold citrus fruits in the Central Market of Paris, met Gustave Eiffel, who became one of his customers.
